THE STATE is a publishing practice based out of Dubai, U.A.E. It investigates South-South reorientations, problematised futurisms, transgressive cultural criticism, and the sensuous architecture of this “printernet.”

In addition to the the “compulsory individual” of the Nym Wars debate, there is the internet presence of the test account, the pseudonym, the parody, the alter ego, the ludic gamer, and the cyborg appendage. Most of us probably don’t control massive botnets, but we still have a tangled mass of mono-filament bot threads, trailing behind our identities. These are but a few: others will no doubt develop over time, and even now may be lurking in the shadows. (via tugging on the bot threads | THE STATE)
